Just don't choose the ball turret - you're sitting down, legs up in the air, firing the machine gun between them.

Or if you do, schedule a chiropractor appointment immediately after your flight.

The more I think about this, the more this comment comes to mind:

YOU LUCKY BASTARD!!!!!!!!

Plane jealous

Happy birthday Todd!

Nice gift. You must be doing something right.

Didn't realise you were into airplanes, or we coulda bored them to death!! As a teenager, I applied to join the Royal Air Force, and was provisionally accepted. However, I went off to college to study Science instead, but I still hanker after that pilot's license.

Don't touch the gun barrells till the No Smoking light goes out

Significant Technical Input
Out of curiosity...

Seeing how there's a number of us with interest in WWII planes, have any of you ever been hooked on Fighter Ace? It's been a few years since I've flown but I was thinking that maybe it's time for an SVX squadron...

I just checked in - the game is being upgraded soon and as a result no downloads available until 11/19. www.fighterace.vr1.com

HAPPY (BELATED) BIDET, TODD!!

Dang, that *IS* a great birthday gift. My former roommate was a B-17 freak, he'd go ape doody over a ride in a Flying Fortress.

My father-in-law (God rest him), was a belly gunner in a B-29 Superfortress. He had some heavy-duty combat stories. Especially the one where he was stuck in the turret when returning from a mission and the landing gear wouldn't come down. He managed to get out just before the turret was sheared off on landing.

Anyhoo, I'm envyous to say the least.

At the EAA about 7 years ago I got a ride in a ford Tri-motor. Pretty cool. Hehehe.

I took a 2 week quasi flight school and got to fly Cessna 172s. Anyone else into flying? I really liked it but put the whole deal on hold until I have a LOT more $$$. Heh.

AS a kid I flew controlline model airplanes. I used to compete in 'combat' . I could not afford radio control back then.

Happy Birthday

First Happy Birthday Todd. You lucky bumm. I once got to stand at the edge of our runway while a B-17 took flight. Quite a sight to see...all that metal and engines blasting by just out of hands reach.

On flying. $VX. You MUST MUST not use $$ as an excuse. I'd go practically broke to keep flying. I just got bumped out of my club (partial ownership) because the insurance. Now I'm seriously considering a large home equity loan to buy into another. I'm just waiting for the economy to upswing....which I think it has.

Flying is the best! There are so many "I wish I woulda continued with those lessons" out there. Don't be one.

Todd,
Please post pictures next Spring...we'll all be here....typing away our limited time here...

My father has a plaque on his instrument panel.

"The gods do not deduct from ones time on this earth, time spent flying"
