Cool Novelty Mileage Milestone

Today Bessie's Odometer read 222,222 on I-94. Gee! only a few more miles (well 27,778 to be exact) until I join the quarter million mile club!!!

Gives me hope for a long future with this wonderful vehicle. How many transmissions and wheel bearings has your car gone through?

Wheel Bearings: One, but I regreased the original on the other side long ago with synthetic grease.

Transmissions: Um, well, ah, eleven.

I wish I was. I had my first tranny go out in Fall of 94. from then on for about a year and a half, they rebuilt it over and over, each rebuild lasting between 100-1000 miles.

On the eleventh try, they found a crack in the high pressure circuit that finally resolved the problem.

BTW: that dealership is no longer in business. They lost their franchise.

I'm jealous. Mine only has 219,400 on the ticker.
3rd. Tranny.
2nd. Engine.
6th. set of bearings.
Let me know when you make it to 250,000.

million mile high club

I've got an old Black Linocoln with 250k
it was my first car.. it's now a yard orniment. sadly to say.
I have parts and stuff to fix it up cause well, Yes it still runs very well. Same engine, same tranny, same everything except suspension parts and tiny stuff.
Air suspension tends to go out on them over time but I replaced mine.. So glad Subaru didn't put the adjustable air ride on the SVX. That would have been a problem.. Expensive one at that.
it needs to be repainted, and cleaned up..

I thought I would have time getting a 2nd car.. um the SVX has stolen all time and somehow eaten all EXTra cash..
damn Jap grimlin.

I sorta Miss the black car and Tinted windows.

the dogs were more comfortable in the back.

Doug you got patience to say the least. 11 trannys' ..
and One dealership ran out of business. HEHEHEH

What year Lincoln?

I'm planning on adding a 64 4 door convertible to the stable as soon as funds permit (and after SVX #2 of course).

It amazing how cheap they are. I can get one in great shape for under $20K. That's now the price of a new average sedan.

old Lincoln

Hey DOug true you can find a few GOod gems.
this one is an 86 Continental. Not near as old as a 64.
Still poor car looks sickly.. WIth it's flaky paint and sagging front end ( one tires leaks from sitting)
THe most horrible thing you can do to a car is ALLOW it to sit.
this I have no learned the hard way.

I went down to start the old lincoln and it started right up, no noise no smoke.. However it didn't want to move when placed in Drive. I figured this to be just a fluid leak down in the tranny that given some time it would build up again after the car ran for a few mins.. NOPE no luck there.. Might be low. There was another Lincoln that had sat and had the same problem. A Fluid change fixed it...
My guess is, I need to change the FLuid. Everything will be right as Rain.

Now as for repaint.. I know of someone who painted a Car with Emron.. My uncle of all people..

Good thing Emron comes in Black My lincoln is a 2 tone, 50% black and some Mica brown with reddish tones starting midway of the doors down... I don't know Givenchy was the one who picked the colors.

I did try looking up if Emron had a Color match for the SVX.. No luck there..
ah well.. It was a good idea..
take care to all
Happy Drive'n

Reviving the thread...

At 7:14 am (-7:00 GMT - Arizona) my SVX hit the 30,000 mile mark. Yay, woohoo...no biggie right? Well, she hit the 30,000 mile mark RIGHT IN FRONT OF MOTORSPORT WAREHOUSE! Is this a sign? Should I buy the car a birthday present?

Nice job on the mileage mohrds. I hit 166,666 last week. Unfortunately, I take the train to work and can't manage to get to 200,000 any time soon.
Looks like their is a Midwest svx high mileage group here.
