I just got up this morning and bought an SVX

Yes!

After 6 months of searching, pondering, investing, calculating... 1 of the 7 SVXes originally sold in Norway was offered for sale today. After checking out the service book, receites from 2004 and onwards I called all the shops that did services and work on the car and they all vouched for for it. Authorized sube shop had a full written report.Apparently they enjoyed the "quality assurance" drives and the mech who did the work in december wanted to buy it himself etc etc (I bought if from a private person, not the otherwise reputable Subie shop).

It was in shop two days ago to have its cruise control fixed (leaky vacuum hose). A lot of work has been done over the years with the transmission's center diff, cluch, valves, oil etc repaired in december and rotor swaps, bearings blablabla.. It was a well kept car with only a few things that I will fix asap just to keep it in top shape.

It's a genuine VTD and the back rotors have been changed rather than the front ones I think it's got a lock option.

MY96, Bordeaux Pearl, no spoiler.
133K km (not miles)
169Kw, not 162 like the other european ones.
Interior is in really good condition with very little wear on the seats
VIN: JF1CXWLE0TG008117

Will post pics when I retrieve it.

Will order JDM spoiler an aluminum dash kit!

First thing up is getting a major overhaul including timing belt (due for swap in July), all the stuff behind it, possible leaks and maybe even the head gasket if I get a good price. Exhaust will be changed.

Second thing up is getting the alus refurbished as they have rash. And then buy new Potenzas.

Third thing is getting a full respray but that can be veeery expensive, maybe for next year.

Re: I just got up this morning and bought an SVX

Congrats on your new SVX, seems to be a steal and a rare model

Just a small comment about the tyres, after trying and experiencing the Kumho Ecsta's on my Nissan Z, I realized that it is the best in the world.

The Z is a rear wheel drive, meaning going sideways on curves is like daily bread. With the Kumho's, the car literally never budges ESPECIALLY on wet surfaces!

I am really astonished from this tyre. I also thought to share with you a shot of one of my front sets after 5 years of use, 3 of them in extreme temperature conditions. Note that it never leaked while in such a condition...

Try the Ecstas, you won't regret it, trust me on this.

18" for the Nissan costed me $450 for a set of 4 without installation.
Just make sure the manufacturing date is recent. You will see a tag on each tyre saying for example: (3211) meaning it was manufactured during the 32nd week of the year 11 or in other words manufactured in August, 2011

I'll pick it up in a couple of weeks and drive it for 10 hours home. Pictures will be taken, both of scenery, roads and car. By my biking photographer friend who will tag along.

Meanwhile, is the "JDM Spoiler" on motorsports warehouse THE one and only spoiler that the cars where delivered with? Must have spoiler.

Some interior pics. The exterior was so dirty I'd rather have a good wash before I share... and take those awful grill lights off.

Having tried the Escta SPTs (which are now on my black SVX), they are very good tires. But I have a new favorite: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....10XL&tab=Sizes

They are very, very good in the rain and the dry, and I pushed both sets pretty hard.

Congrats on finding such a nice example. I wish you the best of luck with it. I'm also now super jealous of the tiltable headlights. Are the headlights glass as well?

Thanks. The tiltable headlights?

The current owner mounted some awful high beams right in front of the grill, the kind Mary-Jo and Peter-Bob have on their trucks. Probably very usable in the outbacks of Norway but not so pretty in Oslo

Or did you mean some other tiltable headlights?

Not sure how you can recommend a tire that wore like this.
