Key #

Write your KEY # in the manual . I found mine on the original BILL of SALE the PO gave me . Or get a copy made of the key and keep it some place.

Re: Key #

I also have the key number for all of my Subaru's saved in my phone. If I'm out of town and lose keys it may be the difference between $5 at the dealer and $$$$ at a locksmith.

Re: Key #

I think it's written on the key itself.

Re: Key #

That sounds like the tumbler #. In work to day i am going to check with our key Gage if that can be used to get the # . If it can then you could go to your local Lowe's store and have it gauged. There is a little bar in the Re key kit that tells pin length.

Dude, don't post that type of thing online. Someone could make a key and come steal the car...

It doesn't matter, 20 year old locks and ignitions are so worn, you don't even need a Subaru key, much less the proper one to get into most of them

Funny story, I have an SVX key, that gets into 3 of my SVXes.
Also, my Caravan key, opens up 3 of my friend's vans that are the older generation Chrysler with 1 less tumbler.
Lock mechanisms wear out. I've heard a lot of cases of VW keys opening up Subaru's and SVXes

Who needs a key anyway? My 81 Delta would start without a key
