SVX Brake Questions

Alright, are SVX rotors/pads specific to ONLY the svx? That doesn't make much sense.. I mean, there are NOT many of these cars; it'd be stupid to design a caliper just for it (same with rotor). What other parts interchange from other subie vehicles? The reason I ask is that I'm REALLY trying to find out if EBC makes us pads or not.

I think I heard that the rotors are compatible with the Pathfinder. It makes sense - a number of items on the SVX are from Nissan parts bins.

A company like Raybestos could tell you, I bet.

Pockets,

Rotors are not compatible, as the Pathfinder's is 6 bolt I believe.

The calipers are, and hence, the pads.

The Early Years.

There's another thread here very recent that has someone ordering pads for a Pathfinder and fitting into the SVX. You won't have to go more than a day or two back for the thread.

I'm too lazy to search for it right now...

Anyone know what year Pathfinder pads work? I'd like to get some Greenstuff pads for trackday.

Lots of models share the same padswww.philsinc.com

Look at Akebono pads, the 92 SVX front pads are ISD333, lots of Nissans use this pad...

00 Frontiers
86-97 D21 Nissan Pickups

Man, the guys in charge of the EBC pads in the USA are complete dumbasses. I sent them an email with all this information and they sent me a reply that said "Svx isn't coming up on our computer. Please send more information"

WTF?! Freaking morons.

>sigh<

Just tell em its for a pathy.

Ask em about the pads though. I'm curious if they are the same as the greenstuff or not.

Here's the next response I got:

For the front, and from the years 87-95 the pad number is
DP6691 @ $59.00 for the set.

I'll ask if they're the greenstuff or just regular stupid SUV pads.

My SVX came with greenstuff pads on the front from the PO. Not much brake dust to contend with. My street racing days are long gone, so can't really speak to performance.

Do I understand that you are having problems finding pads for your SVX? when I got my car, it had new brake pads all the way around but they made a sound like a clay truck when I applied them , so I went to my local parts store and got a set of $13.00 pads which he had on hands and they worked fine.. The guy there told me it called for non metalic pads and the ones that was on the car when I bought it were probably metalic , the ones he had on hands were semi-metalic but very little noise with them.
