Re: what can be improved on the svx?

Transmission (improvements) and 5 or 6 speed option
Radiator with 3 pass instead of 1 transmission fluid
Wheel bearings
Improvement of brakes and rotors

my realistic 2 cents

Re: what can be improved on the svx?

Setting aside obvious mechanical and subjective performance shortcomings, here are a few things I'd like:

—Solid wood, wood veneer, textured plastic, painted plastic, tuck-and-roll naugahyde… ANYTHING except fake woodgrain.

—A removable, hinged cover over the spare tire well, with storage cubbies that fill the voids around the spare.

—Perforations in the seating surfaces of the leather.

—A remote trunk release.

—Oil pressure and alternator output gauges.

There's not much about these cars that leaves me wanting. I just hate that they're so old.

Let's not forget that 2 buck under hood light.

I'd also move the radio volume control knob somewhere that would allow a normal thumb to grip it - AND put some radio controls on the steering wheel.

While we're at it let's also add a trip computer, & a gas guage that actually measures the amount af gas remaining.

Ron.

Re: what can be improved on the svx?

Hey, if we're shootin' for Christmas, make the thing a hatchback, and find a way to make that driver's side rear plug more convenient. Of two engines, both had five of one plug and one of another!

Oh yeh, and that PCV thing...

Well first of all aside from the front seats the interior of the SVX actually weighs very little, so you're not gaining much by gutting it. Second, after driving my SVX in various conditions of half-finished work (missing interior, missing exhaust parts, etc), I can tell you with absolute surety that I will never drive a stripped out car on the road again. The road noise is absolutely atrocious, exposed metal looks like crap... Granted these are my own personal opinions, but I like my car in large part because the interior of the SVX is a nice place to be for extended periods of time. When it's missing parts I just can't wait to get home and get out of it.

Re: what can be improved on the svx?

Give us an idea of they type of improvement you are looking at.

If you mean updating with new technology that's one thing. If you mean fixing old design short comings that is something completely different.

Id like, love to be able to adjust my A/C by a half degree Celsius, like newer cars.

Memory for power seat, mirror and steering wheel settings would be nice.

Power passenger seat would be nice.

Extendable sun visors to block sun from the side.
