playing in the snow

Man, this car is a tank. First winter with the SVX and it is awesome. We had a christmas dinner last night at a family members house out in the middle of nowhere. It hadnt been plowed so there was about 8 inches of snow on the gravel road. The SVX and 2 4wd trucks did all the transportation from the main road to the house wich was about a mile of deep slick snow. I will put up some pics here in a little bit.

Re: playing in the snow

I just came on here to talk about this. I just took the car out in the snow and slid around with it. It is excellent in snow. I drove through about 10 inches of snow for a second and the car did not even get stuck. It is a great car in the snow.

Do you use real snow tires?

Re: playing in the snow

Yeah, I love mine in snow too. I've got 205/55 snow tires on it, and it just goes and goes. 12" of snow? No problem. 18"? Pushing it, but doable.

Re: playing in the snow

Thankfully we only got 3" inches here. Just enough comp time for me to take the week off. Got to drive home from salting on the untouched state roads for the first time in the xjr. It drove better then my XT6 did in the snow. At least my Romanian made loudest tires I ever had Mich. Alpines proved decent enough once I turned the traction and stability control off and took it out of sport mode so I didn't have 1st gear.

With all this snow we should all try and get some good shots of our svxi in the snow...the 2011 calendar this year didn't have one snow shot!

I have a bunch of the Svx covered up about 1/4 the way and then we left through it. I just need to resize all me pics. All of my pics are too big to fit on here and I am no computer guru. So, I will figure out a quick way to resize them and post some.
