Noob Air filter/intake question

hey all,

I was wondering how exactly this would work

would i just pop it in and it would be all right or would it require modifications of the intake hose and MAF?

i am a noob with this stuff.

It would probably be better to just get a K&N filter for the stock airbox.

That setup doesn't really gain anything on our cars, because of how the stock airbox is fed through the fenderwell already.
