Now we know why they call it a "temporary seasonal" job....

Good news and bad news....

Today at around 4:00 Tom was told his services were no longer needed at FedEx.

So now he can get back to working on SVX's!

OPEN FOR BUSINESS!!! (again)

I was shocked to hear the news from Tom when I spoke to him earlier Di. His work is second to none, and his shop will do extremely well.

I hope to see you both later this winter.

I'm surprised to read this too.

Tom has always tried his best to do his work.

His garage will do good.

I guess you're hoping the Evo X comes with an automatic/clutchless transmission?

Ken,

His layoff was no reflection on his work. We knew it was a temporary job when he took it, we just didn't know HOW temporary. His (ex-) boss really likes him, so there is always a chance they will re-hire him if they need a full-time driver, now that he has experience. But I don't think the wages are quite high enough for us to make ends meet.

Oh, well, it was fun while it lasted.

I just cannot understand how they fire workers in the States! Tom has been working in his previous job for the last 4.5 years and suddenly he was told that he should go... isn't there any regulations protecting workers over there???

Come on! I live in a virtually third world country over here... an employee can resign and go in one month (without compensating his employer) as for the employer cannot fire an employee (A good employee) without:

1- Previous 2-3 months notice.
2- A compensation amount equals X months the years he worked for him. For example Tom should check from his early job 4.5 X his monthly salary and a 3 months notice in advance...

Jeeeeeeeeeeez

Anyways Tom, hope you are not upset especially that they made you the worst F***ing B-day present... I hope that this would be in your benefit so that you professionally excel through our beloved babies...

Sincerely SS

Mr. SVXFiles has, no doubt, established a standard for temporary seasonal workers that will never be met by anyone else! May the economic Gods shine brightly on the SVXFiles garage

Dear SS, I am not upset.......
I allways sit in my livingroom with camo facepaint, methodically loading a vast array of weaponry, chugging light beers at 7AM , now 3:28

I had a birfday???
