I don't think they really know the current prices of SVXes. That is a bit high for the year and miles. If they can get that for it, I guess that is what it is worth.

Honestly, I don't really care which way the directional wheels go, I've seen factory pictures either way, and I like them either way.

But if you are asking $12,000 for an SVX, at least mount the wheels one way or the other! They spent hours shining it up, taking pictures, etc., but no clue as to what's wrong here.

Someone should offer less for the car, tell them it has two 92 wheels and two 97 wheels. Sounds like good mischief to me. Imagine them calling around trying to buy two 97 wheels to make it right!!!

Just a point. There is a proper direction for the wheels. The left side are marked as L, and they are suppose to cool the rotors that way. I have seen them both ways in the Subaru catalogs or brochures, and that surprises me.

I don't actually think that the price is all that high. My mom payed slightly more for hers with fewer miles and slightly better condition. i think thats about what a 97 is worth. I know i can tell an immediate difference in my moms car... its soo... smooth.

I'm with you there Earl, about the left marked with the L. For twelve years, I have correctly mounted my wheels and tires. What I suspect is that Subaru looked at the wheels both ways before making a decision and casting the L. I would also believe that it doesn't really matter which way the bent spoke wheel turns with respect to cooling the rotors. SVXes have rotor problems. Maybe Subaru chose what everyone thought looked best and NOT the direction that had the best effect on the rotors. That's just my view on it.
