Unhappy Too many lights and now power steering

Ok so I was just cruising at about 60 when my steering got really really tight and I looked down and all the dummy lights(i.e. ABS, E-Brake, Brake Lamp and airbag) were all on. SO I pull over and stop the engine and start it back up and the lights stay on. I am hoping its not the altenator, seems like everybody wants $200+ for it, too much money!!

Can anyone help me?????? and yes I did seach for the answer but didn't find anything that helped me. My power steering died too!!!!!!!

Here is a quick and dirty check for the altenator.
While the engine is running disconnect the negative terminal. If the car dies then you need and altenator, if not then you might have a grounding peoblem.

If you need to find the codes here is the link, click on CODES and go from there.

Good luck

Before doing that, you might want to read the last item on this link;
