I imagine it must be a very interesting book to keep your attention long enough to read it.

Well, I certainly hope that, by the end of the book, you've learned to deal with some of the "social crap." Your "honesty" is "YOUR" honesty it isn't always truth. We'd all be better off if you'd just learn to resist the urge to be . . . "honest."

My Honesty

Honestly! I don't believe there is such a thing as ADD. It is a contrived "disease" to give bad parents and poor teachers an out. When I was growing up the system had a cure for unruly and "slow" students... They put them back a year or two in school. It was good for the kid... gave them time to either catch up or go to technical school and learn a trade. (Spend 5 extra years in elementary school…. Go to Voc Ed… not that there’s anything wrong with that.)

Now, if that happens, the parents sue the school or the teacher for being unable to "teach" the kid. The "system" has been bent to make people think everyone is college material...

ROB ... it takes enough time to type something, that your "ADD" Defense doesn't hold water... unless you type 120 words a min. (Then that shoots your ADD Defense to sh*t too!).

Now, if you guys hadn't quoted him.... I never would have known that he thinks he has a learning disability...

About the rims… Whatever you like is fine… don’t let anyone here pressure you to change anything based on THEIR opinion! unless it’s Randy J….

Okay, you asked for it.

F*CK YOU. You obviously have not the slightest clue as to what you are talking about. People with ADD are rarely dumb; in fact they're usually the smartest people.... and I'm an example of that. Believe it or not, I'm an extremely smart person. In every placement test I've taken, I've scored in the 98th or 99th percentile IN EVERY CATERGORY. In elementary school, most of my teachers thought I was the brightest kid they'd had in ages. I could go on and on, but actually, I don't give a ****. Go right on ahead and remain ignorant you stupid ass.

**** you.

Maybe you should learn a few things:

1. People with ADD are usually more intelligent than average
2. ADD is real
3. I've had great teachers
4. I have great parents
5. I've done fine in school

Go read this book "driven to distraction".

Go to amazon, the library, I don't care. Go read it. It's about 200 pages long. You'll be smarter afterwords.

- Rob

BTW: ADD isn't a learning problem, its an attention problem. READ THE BOOK.

In Rob's defence I have a cousin with ADD and if I had not seen it in person I would agree that ADD was a load of crap too. I'm not so sure I would call it a disease as much as just an attitude problem, but whatever it is, it definatlly just couses the person to state his blunt opinion about whatever they want whenever they want, to who ever they want, and as long as things are going his way, he is easy to deal with but at the same time he is a landmine with a hair trigger( like someone else we all know here)waiting to be stepped on. Oh ya he's wicked smaat too.

I think that some cases are real and some are even extreme. However, I think that the educational system is using it as a "catch all" for behavioral disabilities. Again, it's never OUR fault. All social disabilities have to be blamed on something besides our own choices and abilities. IMO.

Sorry, Mitch. It's habit. It has nothing to do with the fact that someone is "worthy" of being quoted.

Reminds me of the old gradeschool riddle (which may now be appropriate), "what starts with an F, ends in CK and has a U in between?"

K, someone please quote this so Uncamitski can read it:

Add is REAL. It is not a learning disability, it is an attention disability. People with ADD are generally more intelligent than the average person, and also more creative. ADD IS REAL. Ever seen those cat scans of peoples brains? Basically, people who have ADD, those 'scans' look different'. The frontal lobe of the brain, which deals with social information (reading peoples feelings, body language, judging how people will react, etc) is not firing as often as normal people. Some prescriptions can correct this. I originally was taking 'metadate', a form of ritalin, and it worked great, but it had the side effect of giving my sweaty feet, and ...it...eh.. kinda sucked in the bedroom. So I switched over to generic 'amphetamine', in 15mg doses. Works good, no side effects. When you are on the medication, the frontal lobe is firing more often (still usually not on par with a normal person), but it does help. What helps most (for me anyway) is to have an extremely structured lifestyle, where I get up at the same time, and I have a routine...but with planning a wedding and all, that idea is a no go. Anyway, read the book. Hell, I'll PAY you to read the book. I'll paypal you 5 bucks Uncamitski if you read it.

Very true. I hate the, "Let's go willy nilly with diagnosing of real problems, even if many people are just bad seeds and don't have real medical problems," mentality. Why can't there just be bad parents or influences sometimes?
