so after 126,800 or so miles the trannie finally gave out. at least i will be able to drive it, albiet slowly, to a repair shop. i ordered the replacement subaru trannie filter cartridge and the shift kit from transgo and when they come i'll be looking for a reasonably priced trannie shop. anyone know of any i the baltimore area?

Define "reasonably" priced, Bill. Have you phoned around just to see who will touch (and not break any further) an SVX? Try Foreign Auto Excellence in Frederick 301 694-3112. Installed a rebuilt in mine for the prior owner. Heritage will probably do a tranny as well. HOW well is always the question. Let me know what you find.

Do NOT use Heritage Subaru for a tranny. When mine was rebuilt for a previous owner, they forgot (bull****) to reinstall the tranny filter, and after 31k miles, the tranny is shot to ****. They of course assume no liability, so whatever...
