testing battery

ok... i was testing my battery, i think it might be bad ... when i started the car for not running it for about 3 hours... it started out at about 13.8... then i drove and i turned my acces. on... then it got down to about 12.4..... then when im at 20mph just eazin the gas it goes back up to 13.5... also, i cant keep any of my accesories on without the car on, if i keep em on within 10 mins. the car wont even start... ill test the battery voltage after like 10-12 hours of not driving...

Don't know if you will do this or not, but here is a poor mans load test for you.

1 turn on hvac fan, hi
2 turn on lights, all that there is (hi beam, parks, fog...)
3 leave door open so inside lights are on
4 remove fuel pump fuse or unplug it
4.5 I think you may be able to disable the ignition by unplugging the ignitor on the firewall behind the T.B. (idea is to keep the motor from starting thus not allowing the alternator to reach a speed capable of charging the battery)
5 hook volt meter to batt posts
6 crank engine over for 15-20 seconds
7 observe voltage as motor cranks
8 if the voltage drops below the mid 10V range during the test then you have a bad cell
9 I would think you should be able to maintain a 11.2 voltage during the test, but below a 10.4 isn't a good reading
10 tell us what you find
(should of added 2 more steps to make this an official program)

Just go to any auto parts store. They have a load tester and will test it for free.

had the load tester at shucks done a while ago and it turned out to be fine...

BUT, i did a test with my inverter while the car was NOT running and when i had my lights, high beams and radio going.... it went from 12.3 to 10.5v!!! then the inverter was sounding a warning showing to low volts then i feared what i would do next, turned on the defrosters and boom! last voltage i saw was 9.2v and the invertor started to squeal and was saying ERROR!! and thats when i knew that it had to of dropped to like 7v...... maby this is the reason im having so many problems...
