I see. So in addition to the PLC, I'll need some sort of high speed, high load switching device. Would a solid state relay do the trick? I mean one rated for switching 240vac, with a 12v trigger.
I can get most any components, I just need to know what I'll need. I'm an electrician/mechanic in a fairly large factory. My electrical consists mostly of loose wires/blown fuses ETC.

Well CRAP!
A simple logic circuit would likely fry under that kind of load. What would take the load, and still be fast enough?

Something custom designed and suitable for both the input and output parameters involved.

Now all we need to know is what those parameters are.
Give me some time, I'll get my meters on it!

can anyone with a scope measure the wavelengths of the stock circuit?? If so, I know the DCCD controller I use may also be able to be used to generate wavelengths that we desire. once I have an auto around to mess around with I will play with the resistor that you had mentioned Trevor... Really I have no use for this but the idea popped up in my head

The frequency (waveform) of the signal involved is around 50 CPS, which is close to the frequency of your AC mains supply, which I believe is 60 CPS, ours being exactly 50 CPS. This gives you the feel of what is involved in respect of the frequency of the pulses, if you consider AC hum as an audio frequency. However it is the length of the "on" pulses within the constant frequency rate which provide control. I am disappointed to learn that you really do not have use for what you proposed in view of the in time and effort expended. Even so it has been an interesting exercise.

well only owning a 6mt this makes no difference in my life. it is a good thing for others and the idea was maybe have an option out there for the auto guys experiencing a slow acting AWD system to fix their issues
