A bank of $15 halogen worklamps from mallwart does the same thing as the sun, just don't get it to hot... your molding will suffer.

IIRC the darkest, commercially available, tint is 5%, AKA "limo tint".(in your terms 95%) This tint is DARK, youll have a hard time seeing out of the car at night. I've seen pickups with 2 layers of 5% on the back window, that's as close as you can get to painting the window black from the inside!

I've decided to stay away from tint for the rear window. I've driven a couple private business vehicles with vinyl graphics on teh rear and while it doesn't offer the best clarity, it can give you a blackout effect from the outside while still allowing in maybe %50-%60 of light. I'm thinking about just getting a straight black vinyl decal to cover the part of the window where headlights try to blind me.

Somebody told me there's a commercially avaliable tint-removal spray on the market; said he'd seen it at Wal-Mart. (Probably Windex with extra ammonia.) This is a chore I've been putting off since I bought my silver SVX over a year ago. Whatever that stuff is on my back glass, it's more like a diffuser than tint. Visibility to the rear is limited to indistinct, fuzzy shapes. I'll probably just end-up taking it to a pro and saying, call me when it's done.

I paid $100 to remove ALL of my tint (screw you Hawaii tint laws) and they used a heat gun on all the windows and it didn't damage my defog lines I'm not sure what solution they used to get the goo off. I was gonna do it my self, but even with a razor blade my tint was like cement!

I can't say enough about Castrol Super Clean/Purple Power. You can soak stuff in this, and it'll take paint off. It won't hurt plastic either.
Spray it on the glass, then use the aforementioned trashbag trick. let it sit overnight then use a scotchbrite pad to remove the stubborn goo.
