New to the Forum, not the SVX

Hello all-

I've just joined the Forum, nice to know all this knowledge is out there. However, unlike most new members who have either just acquired an SVX, or are looking to get one, I've had mine for almost 8 years and got it from my father who bought it brand-new.

The details:

Teal Green '92 SVX LS-L built 5/91 purchased 8/91 in Boston, MA.
Currently 183+K miles
Replaced tranny, 3 rear wheel bearings, steering rack, 1 coil pack, various upkeep items
26 mpg highway

At the time of purchase my father was told it was the first SVX in New England to be bought - (he sold a Porsche 944 to buy it, probably the only person to ever sell a Porsche for a Subaru) - and when he took it in for its first service technicians from Japan came to inspect it and see how it was holding up.

Current issues:
*loud cooling fans, will probably need to be replaced soon
*variable vibration around 80mph - sometimes it's there, sometime not
*Bruce blew my speaker - I love the new Springsteen CD, the door woofer did not

An additional note for Boston-area people: I have learned the hard way to not get my SVX serviced anywhere but Cityside Subaru in Arlington. They always repair it correctly for less than having it NOT repaired by others. And recently when we had trouble diagnosing a problem that turned out to be a cracked coil pack, they didn't charge labor for the final fix. I find them fair and knowledgeable - and no, I don't work there.
