P/S not working and clicking
I have recently noticed my ps going out on occation then coming back on. The line has been leaking a lot but i fill it up, about a quart every 3k miles or so. I have new hoses, just haven't put them in. The pump is making a clicking/tapping noise when the car is running. Any ideas on what this could be and how to fix it? I dont really feel like forking over $400 for a new pump, is there a way to rebuild the thing?

Try replacing the o-ring between the power steering pump and fluid tank. There is a how-to in the "How-To" locker.

If the O ring fix doesn't do it, the hoses should do it. There can be pin holes in the hoses and very difficult to see where they are leaking. Good luck.

clicking
i ordered the ring today. will this get rid of the clicking noise from the pump as well or just the fluid oozing everywhere?
