New Camera... New SVX pic....

I've been eyeing this spot for a while, it's a NYS Department of Transportation lot with a mountain of rocks... So I got a new camera and figured it was about time I went to the spot I pass almost everyday before it's gone....

I know theyre all pretty similar but I was having trouble picking one

and at least another angle lol

Your car looks great. The light silver wheels and side writing look very good on a blue car.

It looks very svxy Jen, as usual......

That's a good place for a photo shoot with the even background, and you new camera takes a good pic.

I'm no expert photographer, but it is more usual to take these kind of snaps early morning with slanting light. Close to noon it gives the camera a hard job to do to get exposure right. With the sun high in the sky the shadows are very hard and dark, so if you can see the brightly lit parts of the car, the shadows will be underexposed, and if you can see the darkened parts, the brightly lit side will be overexposed.

[I've just got a new camera myself, and I'm messing around trying to get the perfect shot.]

It has not happened yet.

The more I see of that blue colour, the better I like it.

Joe

Thanks Joe! That is a good suggestion, I hadn't even taken the lighting into consideration. I took those in auto mode but I'm hoping to learn the settings to help take a better pic...

Very nice area to shoot...

Joe is correct, the best times to shoot are early morning and very late afternoon/early evening.

My preference is early evening because there's more even lighting and the shadows are less harsh. This will allow for the car to be more evenly exposed, as opposed to having part of the car extremely dark and the part that is exposed to the light to be too bright.

I must say, that blue is... quite svxy... no pun intended

Looks a bit like... my back yard in west Texas.

where I grew up... my back yard in west Texas. In the spring, summer, winter, and fall!

It isn't!!! Those Texas mountains gave it away.

has to be farther to the south, maybe Odessa?
