5mt FWD?

It seems to me this could be the 'sportiest' SVX that could possibly be made, with out the added weight of the 4EAT OR the AWD system, it'd be a light sporty throwaround 'fun' car instead of a heavy grand tourer. plus a fwd fetches a lower price on the market, so it wouldnt be more than 2k to pick one up

Are there any subaru transmissions for a fwd manual that could be swapped into this idea?

Subaru Legacy 5MT's come to mind. Problem is they were only on NA Legacy's. You could use one from a 5MT FWD Impreza if you wanted as well...

FWD for the loss though - no traction.

Would be great for smoke-shows though.

It'd be great for torque steer too....

But yeah, it's do-able...

Like stated, The Legacy's and Impreza's up to 95 were available with a FWD 5-speed that will bolt up to the EG33

I'm very interested in this. Has anyone ever actually mated a FWD 5spd to the EG33? Anyone know how much power these trannies can take? How about if there is an LSD available for it?
