Performance Timing Belts
I know this subject has been opened before... thought to reopen it since a supplier might get us a good quotation for this...
They are 3x more durable than OEM timing belts. They withstand heat and last up to 3x more than OEM belts. They are made of stronger tensile cords and Kevlar facing. Greddy sells them at $247 for the WRX (Example purposes) Cosworth sells them at $250 for the STi Power Enterprise sells them at $180 for the STi HKS at $200 for the EVO. For the SVX it will be much cheaper. This thread is just to know if you guys are willing to buy such a belt and at which price. I need everybody's opinion pls. We will make a count, for example: 1- SilverSpear at $125 2- AbcdefG at $100 3- SubaruSVX - Not interested. and so on... Thanks

Re: Performance Timing Belts
Out of curiosity, how come it would be cheaper for the svx? Also, how long could they reasonably be expected to last?

Re: Performance Timing Belts
Oh, lol. I didn't actually read them. $125 seems fair for something like that.

Re: Performance Timing Belts
Manufactured by a reputed company same as the ones mentioned above but unbranded for pricing purposes.
As if you are getting a brand new subaru SVX manufactured by Fuji itself but without any tag mentioning the name. If you want the name on the belt, add $40~$50 on your budget The reason I haven't disclosed any more details and precise pricing is because I am still waiting for the supplier to get me additional answers from the manufacturer. Hope I get a positive result as expected, but I need you all to give me your answers. You won't be disappointed...

Re: Performance Timing Belts
Ray wants two. I also might settle for two at the end...
1- SilverSpear at $125 2- icingdeath88 at $125 3- ensteele at $100 4- 92_lsl at $125 5- Cam at $125 6- sunvalleyray $100~$125 7- sunvalleyray $100~$125 We need more interests guys... again this will be a lifetime opportunity and will last for more than 120K instead of the traditional 60K. If the OEM belt costs between $50~$90, Generic or Subaru, I guess paying $90~$100 for a high performance belt is a "catch" for a price. The entire car would be worn out before the belt lol. It is also a MUST for performance engine builders, especially for an interfierence EG33.

Re: Performance Timing Belts
Well I knew it was a long shot, the number should be above 40 but the price would be between $80~$100. At that price, and with a strength and durability 3x the OEM Gates belt, I thought people might be interested to have one and "keep it aside". I was wrong.
Since there is not much interest, I don't think we will be going anywhere with this. But anyways let us keep count going on... 1- SilverSpear at $125 2- icingdeath88 at $125 3- ensteele at $100 4- 92_lsl at $125 5- Cam at $125 6- sunvalleyray $100~$125 7- sunvalleyray $100~$125 8- SilverSpear at $125 9- icingdeath88 at $125
