Talking Holy cow! These rule!

Well, I did the HID retrofit with some BMW E46/E38 bulbs, ballasts, and projectors. I had heard that these were the only ones that would fit, and I doubted it, until I did it. There's no extra room, so these are definitely the projectors for the job. Anyway, instead of doing another write up, just check out my cardomain page. Plese feel free to rate my car (I'd like to climb back into the top 5 pages). Go ahead and sign the guestbook or reply here...I'd love to hear some comments.

-Mat

Looks pretty nice. Where'd you get the parts? Used?

I got the parts from the SVX superstore....ebay!!! lol. Got the bulbs, ballasts, projectors, and the BMW fake chrome trim which actually ended up being useful.

Mat definitely did an awesome job on these. The pictures look good, but they look even better in person! It is like they were meant to be in there.

Yea...I knew Mike did it. That's what pushed me to do it In fact, I owe Mike a shout out and a thank you for dealing with all of my questions. Thanks Mike! My HIDs were from a E46 (3 series), but the projector is identical to that of an E38 (7 series). The only difference is the trim. It really is the only one that will fit.

Greg...I'll get with you before Sat and we'll talk.

Earthworm. The conversion took me forever. haha. In all honesty, it should've taken me 4 hrs, I'd say. But, between running back and forth to the hardware store and other places trying to get materials and tools, it took me the better part of a weekend. I think if I had to do it again, 5 hrs would be no problem.

Thundering02...thanks for the suggestion.

And last but not least, Mike...they're sweet, arent' they

That's really what the SVX could have used- if they had them back in 91. It looks great, and that one pic in the street; so bright!

that looks sweet!

Exactly what year BMW's (E46) can be used and which ones fit better? The 3 series or 7 series? What did you pay for the HID parts? Do they have that purpley hue that looks awesome? How does this compare to installing retrofit real HID bulbs on a 9006 base in the factory housings?

Thanks, Greg
