48hrs and the insurance gets it!

Ok.. some of you are aware of my rhd SVX, back in Oct 2018 I had a small run in with a large metal sign (not my fault, someone hit it and sent it into me) the insurance company has finally decided to total loss the car. The numbers they’re giving me are mooooore than fair. The problem is, if I want to keep the car and let them deduct the salvage value from the payout it’s minus $5000 from the total. I would prefer to take the entire payout. It crushes my heart to let a rhd SVX go to an Insurance Auction. If ANY of you want it I have two days to let them know I want to keep it. I will sell it for $5000 no more, no less. The damage was to the underside 4ws rack. The car is very driveable I have taken it on three car club road trips, to a desert, up a mountain, and cross the country. Let me know, but do it fast!!! (I don’t have the option of keeping and repairing it myself) I have already located all of the parts to repair and have them on hold for a decision. Posting from my phone, won’t allow me to upload pics.. I can try later or send them directly.

We could keep checking copart.com after the insurance takes it, and see if it comes up there.

$5,000 for the salvage buy out is insane. They won't get anywhere near that at action. The cars I've bought back are usually in the $500 range.

Re: 48hrs and the insurance gets it!

Yeah I agree.. I was expecting it to be in the $1500 range. However a right hand drive JDM Version L, one of very very few made, apparently has a higher than typical auction return. As far as I can tell there are only 3 in the country. Either it goes to an SVX enthusiast or it goes to the insurance auction. I wanted to offer it to the community before handing over the keys... incidentally they valued the car at $16,000. Take it or leave it. $5000 is cheap for a running and driving US titled rhd SVX that doesn’t need a transmission or a radiator and doesn’t even have sagging visors.

$5k for salvage??? That's crazy. When i totaled mine, they took off $2k which seemed about right since 90% of the car was still good

Wish I had it available. Guess I'll miss this one, even though it's not far away.
