Re: Potomac Valley Performance

There have been a lot of events over the years which has caused Tom to be MIA from the forums and his business. Unfortunately you are most likely going to need to find another way to get work done on your SVX.

It looks like your somewhat local, what are you needing to get done?

Re: Potomac Valley Performance

Yeah I was getting that impression about Tom, too bad i can't say bye to him though, even though I only saw him every once and a while I think of him as a friend.

My situation Is the following; I hardly ever drive, so my svx is just sitting there falling apart. Curently it won't start and I suspect a bad starter. Mow I can get this fixed, but I was thinking whether I should even bother. Maybe it would be better to let someone else have it that will give it the attention it needs and enjoy it like I did in the past. Tom did a lot of work on it and though the paint isn't great. I think the engine and transmission are pretty solid.

Re: Potomac Valley Performance

Pretty good chance it's the starter relay imo. I had to replace mine, and did the starter relay mod while I was at it, highly recommend. Now my SVX cranks with gusto EVERY time.

I do however keep a hammer in my Impreza for persuading the starter.

Re: Potomac Valley Performance

Yes do the starter relay mod. I was very close to ordering a new starter and decided to do the relay mod first, I'm so glad I did.

If the starter is bad I think I have a couple that I don't need any longer.

Re: Potomac Valley Performance

Yeah I could do that, but what I believe I want to do now is give up the car. Preferably to someone who would fix it up. I dont want to see it scrapped. I dont expect much for it.
