I'm sitting at work all nite watching this war on the news and suprise suprise Iraq is shooting SKUD missles, yep the same SKUD missles they claim they don't have.
How is this different from 9-11? Do you really have to ask? Were not purposely targeting innocents, we're not trying to crush the spirit of a peoples land were trying to liberate an opressed people and we are trying to do this to prevent another 9-11.

No opinion?

Like everyone else it's been a hot topic of discussion. I have offered no opinion since I don't know enough about what is really going on. I know what they are telling us but, as with anything related to the gov't with this level of importance, there's a tremendous amount of info we (Joe 6-pack) aren't aware of. Based upon what is being reported, I think it's what needs to done.

I have to put faith in our leaders, and hope for the best for our troops and our country.

God Bless,

Randy ii

ps: Hitler attacked us? I must've missed that episode of Hogans Hero's!

A little history from an old timer.

Hitler's troops attacked the Soviet Union not the USA. The Japanese bombed the US Naval Base at Pearl Harbor, which is just outside of Honolulu, Hawaii on Dec. 7, 1941. Then we declared war on Japan. Then Germany declared war on the USA, since Hitler had a mutual defense pact with Japan. We reciprocated by declaring war on Germany.

The USA lost many young men in Europe & north Africa fighting the Nazi armed forces. The war in Europe was over quicker because the distances involved were shorter than those in the Pacific ocean and the German soldiers were not as fanatical as the Japanese ones (it was a cultural thing).

Guys & Gals,

Please don't attack Nik (Zamorush) just for voicing his opinion.
You can disagree with his view and try to convince him to come to your point of view, but please don't throw flames at him.

Thanks.

Canadian content?

Like most of you, I wish that the US did not have to go to war but it was exceedinly obvious to me that Saddam had no intention of heeding the United Nations and disarming. Equally the UN had no intention of sanctioning the enforcement of res.1441.

I wish Canadian troops were part of this but they are a major part of the soldier base that is in Afganistan. We do not have the abilities and capabilities that the US war machine does especially at this time.

I hope that this is fast and that all casualties are as few as possible. I hope that the US soldiers are not exposed to chem/bio agents and that they stay as safe as they can be given the job that they are doing.

I may not agree with everything regarding this war but I believe that it is 100% necessary and every free nation should support the US in whatever way possible.

God Bless!!!

Hotshoe / Richard

Like most of everyone here I don't want to go to war, but I believe it's necessary. Why did Saddam basically refuse to disarm? Because he'll be using his built up arsenal on us later. Did everyone in this country forget the gulf war and what Saddam will do if given the power and free reign??? My husband is in the military, and he may have to be deployed soon. We should all just pray for our military out there and all the innocent people involved. Either way, innocent people are going to be hurt. Whether we let Saddam or other terrorists attack us, or we go to war trying to stop him.

Well said. Tell your husband and his fellow military personal "Thank You"

Question "Why War?"

Because 1). Sadaam violated & ignored every UN Resolution passed for the last 12 years and has openly broken every promise he made about disarming SINCE THE SURRENDER AT THE END OF THE GULF WAR A DECADE AGO!

& 2). The French stabbed us in the back and totally shut any diplomatic door available (other than the U.S. surrendering!) by stating they would impose their Security Counsel veto EVEN BEFORE IRAQ HAD A CHANCE TO REJECT A NEW TIMETABLE OR RESOLUTION! (Talk about your "unilateral action"!)

And 3). Because under these circumstances it is the right thing to do. Actually, it is long overdue.

Bold statement from the "surrender monkeys." Why would they enter after wmds were deployed?

And did you know that The Hitler Bunker Company was the same company Saddam used for his bunnkers? If the Germans don't disclose their positions, does that make them an ally or collusionist?

I hope everybody agrees with me on this but, WAR SUCKS. I have 2 brothers in the military, and they are both in action right now. I hope with every inch of my soul that every action was taken to avoid this war.
I hope with every inch of my soul that no innocent lives are lost, but i know that is going to happen. Alot of stuff that happens in this world is not right, and after it is all said and done, I hope with every inch of my soul that i get to see my brothers again.
My prayers are with our military right now, may truth and justice prevail.

PEACE TO ALL

Add my prayers to yours. My son-in-law has likely advanced into Iraq within the last hour.

Another thing to consider is that the U.S. wants to minimize casualties. I'm pretty sure Saddam and Osama don't care 1 bit about casualties to the innocent...they probably look forward to it. That's what I find scary.
