Thumbs up Thanks! to Australia & Great Britain

Australia's commitment of 2,000 troops & the British 45,000 let us know with ABSOLUTE CERTAINTY who our Friends really are.

Let those who turned their backs on us never forget why they'll be seeing our backsides a lot more in the future.

God Bless America & our True Friends in this most serious endeavor.

*lighter note* Why? So that they can kick it hard at the UN after the war? *lighter note*

I fully agree with the war. I do NOT agree with the timing of the war at all.

Talks like that make people hate the US. The way to deal with the situation is to act in a mature manner, go in, kick asses, come out say sorry because it had to be done and be humble, rather than create an eyesore for the rest of the world. Put it this way, England was once a world power. Now it's the US. Who will be the world power in 50 years down the road. We all have to act and decide for the current times as well as try to steer ourselves into the right paths for future.

I am done with the war topic for the day. I have to go to the bank and then argue with my dad who is pro war.

France already does. many countries hate (are jealous of?) the U.S. until they need our help, or military services.

I'm not getting into this debate but I will say that the views of people outside the US seem to be a lot more open than the views of most people within the US.

More liberal, yes. More open? I don't necessarily think so.

A lot of the non-superpowers have the college kid mentality. They have time to sit and contemplate the peaceful world, time to march in protests and rallies. How many of them stay liberal after college and they have to start living in the real world and providing for themselves?

Take away the trillions of dollars that the US provides these other countries and the safety of being our friends and we'll see how fast their attitude changes.

Will the US stay a superpower? Of course not. Will the US treat the next superpower like Europe treats the US now? Probably. Its all a matter of time and perspective.

"Open minded" is an often misused term.

Have you thanked a soldier today?

I, too, will add my thanks to England and Australia. For right or wrong I fully support our troops and pray for their safe return. The thing that would disgust me more than anything is if people turned their backs on our soldiers for fighting an unwanted war like they did after Vietnam. Such a disgrace should never be repeated.

I have never held France in a postive light and that has not changed for the better since all this started. I can see why Germany is trying to avoid a war with Iraq since, as I understand it, they are one of Saddam's major suppliers for all his evil toys. I find it ironic how a country that still drives on roads paved with the ashes of past victims is afraid to go to war with Iraq.

May Spirit bless our soldiers and those of our allies and protect them when the time comes for them to enter Iraq. I fear that Saddam will not hesitate to expose our soldiers and his own people to his chemical and biological weapons right in his own back yard when the time comes.

what gets me is that the French prime minister said about iraqi's saying they will use vx missiles, "Well if they do have them, its another story" Them saying this AFTER they completly shut down any chance of the UN working. Its just plain ingnorant

Green, you're helping your country help out too - heck, you're a US Marine!

O/T, but how did an Aussie end up here and in the USMC?

It does seem to be very contradictory. The only thing Iraq had to demonstrate to the world, in order to prevent military action, was cooperation with UN demands. I don't think they really had to demonstrate that they had no WMDs. If they had just come clean and said, 'okay, you got us, here they are,' we probably wouldn't have had the grounds for an attack - despite 12 years of lies to the contrary.

France has defended their position with (and veiled their true motivations behind) a technicality. The fact remains that Iraq has not cooperated with UN obligations. And why would they resist cooperation unless they had something to hide?

Anyway, thank you to our friends in the UK and Australia. It's a dirty job, but somebody's got to do it, right?

I very much regret that we have a woman speaking on our behalf who does not have 100% backing and that it is the voice of politics. Be sure there are many Kiwis in behind you.
