Last chance for Gargoyles SVX

well it makes me but the time has come and I want a new car so...

I am going back East for 8 days to see family & I wanted to give one last chance to save her.
Most of you know my car.. it now has 80,410 original miles
Tranny rebuilt at 70 & 72 k (no trouble sense)
Runs like a top Motor PERFECT
Interior Super
body got a few snow hit & runs and it has a teal Drivers door ( thanks again Earl )
Had a gypsy do the body work but it never got wet sanded or painted
Eclipse Stereo with FOCAL poly carb speakers ($1700)

If by the time I get back (8-16-09) I have no takers I am having the stereo ripped out & put in my truck and then

$4500 CASH FOR CLUNKERS (18 mpg they qualify) & I cry for a few days

So to save her life I offer her to any member with Stereo for $ 4000

Why on God's green earth would you write these things:

Are there no used car dealers anywhere around that can buy you out, if you can't find a line here...

I hope someone who will enjoy it can pick it up and keep it up.

There is no excuse for sacrificing this car on the government's altar of political correctness.

Trade the car on a late model used, and save the 4500$ in depreciation. SOMETHING else.

As much as I would love to buy up these cars, including buying yours, instead of the government... I CAN'T SEIZE OTHER PEOPLE'S MONEY TO DO SO.

It is diabolical directly because people in the market can't afford to compete with the Government. I've bought mine, I can't afford more, not many people can afford more, but hopefully someone happens to be looking, and can make a connection.

2005 Garnet Red Pearl Legacy GT Limited 5-speed. - The late great Subaru sport touring sedan.
1999 Classic Red Miata, Preferred equipment package 5-speed. Fun, fun, fun, in the Sun, sun, sun.

Re: Last chance for Gargoyles SVX

Allen -

I know you've been trying to sell this car for a long time man and hate to see it come to this.

But even if I didn't have $300 to my name at the moment I don't think I could justify $3,000 knowing that it will take that much again to get the body and paint done.

If someone had a big paint/bodywork hook up and could get a new factory finish on this thing for under $1K it would be well worth it though. $4,000 for a near-mint ebony '92 with 80K on the odo.

Not to mention a helluva history on this car back in the glory days of NWSVX!

Seriously, I have nostalgia for your car and the good times around it 2nd only to my own. The thought of the engine being strangled with liquid glass and the car being crushed to oblivion makes me very sad.

I'd get down and beg for you not to do it, but without the cash I don't think there's much I can do.

I get the argument for taking the highest bid. Since you won't be driving it again either way, why not? I'm more pissed at the policy than anybody that chooses to take advantage of it. In this market, these cars are very difficult to sell. My car is sneaking up on 200k miles. Nobody but the government is going to offer me $4500 for it. I hope you saw my cross post to your first thread. This isn't personal. I only wish our whole nation could share in my outrage at this gratuitous waste of tax money.
