Car Audio Troubleshoot help?
02 Hyundai Sonata JVC KD-PDR80 install.
Did the splices. turned on. No sound (not even static) through any speakers. reinstalled old stereo. had sound. thoughts?

did u check the fuse on the cd player?

I have tried all modes (Aux, CD, Tuner)
As far as mute, I looked all through the manual. I also pressed like, ALL the buttons, and tried submenus and such, couldn't find any mute options :/ possibly missing it? other possibilities? James

without knowing how you wired it, the unit could be crap out of the box.

Is the internal amplifier switched off? It might be in a mode used to use an external amp.
Did you try resetting the unit?

When the possible is ruled out, check the impossible.
 I was really confused, because I checked all the wiring, there was voltage going out to the speakers, but it wasn't getting there for some reason. Checking the stock harness, there was a wire (shunted off on the aftermarket harness) going to what must be a factory amp, as after I checked the stock radio to see what was going out of that pin, it was simple 12volt power. so I spliced out the power wire into the head unit, into the wire of the stock harness, and low and behold, me have sound.  Thanks for the suggestions though. James
