Arrow The Great Speed Limiter Debate: CLOSED

After taking a look at the ECU files B3hla had done I was able to determine that there was indeed, no vehicle speed limitation put into any OBDI SVX that was sold inside the US. The JDM models did though. at 182km/h.

Honestly there actually is a speed limiter in all SVXi... BUT it is set to 510km/h so I HIGHLY doubt anyone should feel "restricted". I am going to try and dump an OBDII soon to check on that but I can only imagine I would see the same thing.

Re: The Great Speed Limiter Debate: CLOSED

Good information. So are these cars top speed 143? Ive seen that number in quite a few places. And is there any difference when you add a manual tranny into the picture?

I intend to test this number at some point! That's only 318 MPH, do-able.

Re: The Great Speed Limiter Debate: CLOSED

Correct, the speed limiter is only present on JDM SVXes.

Even more good news: The USDM models are missing the part of the program that cuts the engine, so even when you do reach 510km/h it won't cut out.

Feel free to set that limit to any speed you like. It will have no effect on a non-JDM car.

I felt it necessary to change it from 180 on my black JDM 92.

Re: The Great Speed Limiter Debate: CLOSED

OK, so barring that we have two remaining speed limiters:

* (Power vs.) Drag limited
* RPM fuel cut + gearing + tire circumference

Whadaya think?

Here's a calculator to figure out this part. http://www.pcvsoftware.net/applet.html
I'm guessing the HP/Drag will have more of a limit.
