Thanks heaps,

just pulled up the rear seat - there is only 2 bolt holes - both being used for the L & R pass holders. I assume you could use these as anchor points for a centre lap belt - would pay for someone with a JDM running/wreck that has it fitted to see how it is secured to make sure.

Best colour IMO that suits the SVX - I go for white , it is only my preference mind you - I've seen pictures of yellow and I'm afraid to say if I found one I buy it in heartbeat - in which case my wife would kill me as I'd never part with my red SVX - why is it one can never be enough?

hope this helps Grant

Thanks again, Jason for all the info'.

I had a good look at all the photos of your Sydney meets. I love your charcoal colour - I can't remember seeing one around before. Unfortunately where I live, the Maitland area, I NEVER see SVXs around. When I'm down in Sydney (friends at West Pennant Hills), I do occasionally see one and the SVXcitement grabs hold!

Cheers,
Grant

Hi Joe,
Thanks for all the info'. Perhaps I'm a Worry Wart for thinking the worst - too much reading from reviews on the net over the past month or so. Should have come to this site FIRST!
Can't wait to get the elusive SVX!!
Thanks again,
Grant

Thanks for checking the seat belt situation for me Bruce. (Escuse my total ignorance, what is JDM?).
Cheers,
Grant

You are welcome Grant, and there is no need to be apologetic on the worry front.

You are actually being thorough about finding everything out before you take the plunge and make the purchase. Can't fault you for that!

For all the ones that get problems and have a serious beef about what the trannies cost them, there are plenty of others with upwards of 200K who have had to do no major work to the cars. They are better and tougher cars than made out, but they need taking care of.

If the service records support the low mileage on that white one, you should strongly consider it. Low mileage well kept SVXs are rare, and if it is a good one, you will get a lot of service out of it for smallish money.

Joe

well $6,000 is the purchase price but i'm trading a 94 Ford telstar 2.5lt v6 Ghia + $3,500 cash i bought the telstar for $1,000 so that really equates to $4,500. i can show you when we catch up

Damn...good for you, but I was keen to have a look at it. I was kind of hoping that as it had been on the lot for maybe 5 months, they'd be happy to get an offer...I was going to try for $5k!!

What are your plans with it?

Yeah we should catch up...I'll be working on it most of this weekend if you want to come past.

That would be great if you could check out the lap belt situation for me - even a photo if that's not too much to ask .......

Congrats again!

Hey Guys,

If anyone lives or works near SYLVANIA in Sydney, and wants a quick look at that burgandy (red) 92 SVX for me (from the Trading Post), that'd be great! I live near Maitland and cannot get down to Sydney to see it in the next couple of weeks between work, kids and my shiftworking wife! I really would like to know the transmission setup, whether it has been renewed, auxilliary filter / cooler, etc. I know it's a huge ask, but from what I've read on this forum, we're all looking for an excuse to drive another SVX .....
The address is:
Jeff Bell and Co
37 Port Hacking Road,
SYLVANIA, 2224

Cheers,
Grant
