Anyone have a spare Sleeve-Lock Regulator handy?
Unfortunately the closest parts dealer told me 2 weeks for something that seems to be the size of a 50c coin. The lady at the parts desk already had a Chassis number from an imported SVX and found the little part and ordered it, but I gave her my own Chassis number for future ref. 2 weeks were up yesterday, I walk in there and she says "I cancelled the order because the part isn't available for an Australian delivered SVX, I've been meaning to call you... you have to buy the whole regulator. I made her do an emergency order for a part that I'm not 100% about.
How do I know it's the sleeve lock regulator?.. I don't... I was winding the driver's window up and bang! I pressed the up and down button and could only hear the motor going. A day later I was driving and the window fell straight down into the door after going over a bump. Sleeve-Lock Regulator?? ... an emergency order is 8 to 10 days, she's ordered it except I haven't matched the part number up with her yet from the part number I have which is from the How-To DOCs which is for a LHD SVX, any suggestions??? It's $15.05 so I don't really care about the money just care about the bloody window working!!! Jordan. |

Re: Anyone have a spare Sleeve-Lock Regulator handy?
Ps... the reason why I'm not sure if it's the Sleeve Lock Regulator or not is because I don't have time to take off the door trim to check and then put it back on and then when I get the part, take the door trim off again and then put the door trim back on again.

Re: Anyone have a spare Sleeve-Lock Regulator handy?
Jordan,
After dismantling my wrecked car I see the Sleeve Lock Regulator is a critical component, although a small plastic part. Part number at subaruparts.com is 62101PA081 and lists for $9.95USD with their price $7.58USD. The symptoms you describe are indicative of failure of this small part, including the window dropping, as the window now lacks the part that secures it to the cable that moves it up/down. I can't imagine this part being different between JDM/USDM/AuDM markets. Glenn

Re: Anyone have a spare Sleeve-Lock Regulator handy?
Thanks a lot for the tip, I also can't imagine the part being any different from other SVXs. For some reason I was just under the impression that only the driver's door had a sleeve lock because I thought it was only part of the Automatic up and down window mechanism that's a tiny bit different to the front passenger door but it looks like it's on both front doors.
Thanks a lot, Jordan. |
