Is this attached picture an Italian car ? Yes it is.

This picture of solarsvx's car is a Japanese made car.

Is the car in this picture also a Giugiaro ? Yes it is.

Would'nt someone working at Giugiaro's design shop, upon seeing the SVX driving down the street, pause and say, "thats one of ours".

Does this also means that this is a picture of an Italian car ? Yes it does.

It all depends on your perspective doesnt it ? Even if you do not work at their design house however you look at cars from a design perspective, its okay for you, the SVX owner, to consider your car an Italian car.

Therefore, when driving down the street in your SVX and asked what kind of car it is, if you were to answer, "its an Italian car", then you would be stating a fact because from a design perspective the SVX is in fact an Italian car.

Is the iphone an American product or is it Chinese since it is Chinese made ?

Re: Is this attached picture an Italian car ? Yes it is.

Ok, the svx is NOT an italian car. Subaru came up with design way before Giugiaro came along. Yes Guigiaro did come by and give some design suggestions and advice to subaru designers, but this was done after the design that we see today had largely taken shape. Give credit where its due...Subaru designers! If you don't believe me, read the road and track review of the car....

Did not know that.

Just to play deviles advocate; how do you know Road and Track is correct. Not that they are wrong however why would Subaru approach an Italian Design house after the design is already done.

Just doesnt seem right.

Just playing devil's advocate here.

Anthony, you could be right, they could have their facts mistaken. But their (road and track's) comprehensive write up, was pretty spot on.

What convinced me was that you can see the evolution of the svx over many preceding models, parts of the legacy and the xt6, that make their way into the shapes of the svx. And Guigiaro did not have a part in them, or least lay claim to having any part in their design. For me the SVX soley belongs to Subaru and i respect Subaru as i company b/c, few if any other company's in the same situation as subaru took such a significant gamble by trying to jump into the higher end automotive market. There was such a devotion and dedication by the designers of the SVX at Subaru that to say that the SVX is a Giugiaro design is almost disrespectful.

This thread can not be resolved until someone explains who initially penned the design for this car.
No one as far as I can tell has rescinded the Guigaro claim and almost everyone thinks the badges are both cool and relevant.

Are they or are they not?

My wheels were made in Italy. I can has Italian car plz?

Yes, I tried it... It sill sounded arrogant and pushing propoganda... I didn't say that to start a fight. I said it to help you word your statements a little differently to avoid this issues you have had in the past... But whatever

Re: Is this attached picture an Italian car ? Yes it is.

Good point. Lets adda poll.

The poll questions should focus on rather the Italians had high influence or minimal influence on the svx design.

Agree ?

I would bet the results will be 90% Subaru, Subaru, Subaru.

Well regardless, it would answer the question of what SVX owners feel the car's inspiration was. Try adding a bunch of different options for people who may be caught in between.

Just looked at what you wrote again... Its not whether the car was influenced by Italian designers, I think everyone will agree that it is... The real question would be, do you consider it an Italian car or a Japanese car.

TomsSVX, "knock on wood", but you seem to be the only person that has a problem with me.
