Every once in a while, each of the car folks "get it right." Chevy with the early Camaros, 50's/60's Vettes, Chevelles (SS 396) and a few others. Ford with the Torino CJ, Shelby Mustang and Machs and others. Chrysler with the early Cuda, Charger and today's Viper (o'course, my wife's Dodge Caravan has been trouble free, essentially) and others, Pontiac with the GTO Judge, and early Firebird/Trans Am. AMC with the Javelin and . . . well, the Javelin. Auburn with the "Boat Tail" and Cord with the "Coffin Nose." Studebakers . . . We need not list all of the "right: things. Everybody's done it "right" at least once. So, there's really no need to argue. Of course, I wouldn't consider a Neon among the "right" things, but, that's just my opinion. (Sorry, couldn't resist )

You forgot about the AMX and the gremlin with the v8! :|

And Studebakers are AWESOME. My dad has a 55 speedster president edition. Ultra rare.

And why are neons NOT right? Get 40mpg. Get almost a G on the skidpad. Cheap. Faster than any other in its class (soon to be faster than z28s, with the SRT-4... basically. SCCs SRT4 ran exactly what I guy I know ran with his stock Z28 (newer one).)

A neon ACR could destroy most of those cars in autocross.

And Solar, most of your DSMs are front wheel drive. They don't even make a awd version anymore because nobody bought them.

And they're (the FWD dsms) more expensive and slower than a neon 5spd. I've seen even modded FWD eclipses pulling 17s. Blech.

$ash

they didnt sell many cause of the hefty price tags,,

the new eclipse, i wouldnt even consider it a eclipse 200 hp v6 less power more weight and WWD the eclipse not what they use to be

u seen FWD ,, 140 hp eclipse run 17s those are the gs/rs models along with talon esi and es models wich bye the way have your 140 hp neon ACR motors in them, the "base models"

and u think a neon will "destroy" a rx7 twin turbo or a mr2 turbo mid engine RWD .u smoking too much of that weed of yours =>

mr-2 turbo is one of the best handling cars in the world, mid enigne turbo charged, perfect weight distrubution,, im not a fan of them but anything is better then a neon,

am i the only one too see this or am i just technically blind, =>
any one,,

kinda geting way o/t topic here,

Because, I personally, don't like them. I said it was my opinion. Don't get your panties in a bunch again. I just don't like Neons.

Plus, the AMX was the Javelin, basically, so, it was just clumped in.

Sorta.
http://neons.org/nukebrowser.php?fil...aq/FAQ_ET.html

"Q:*Is the Neon's engine really a Mitsubishi product in disguise?

A:*** No!* This is a persistent myth, particularly among DSM owners, founded on the history of cooperation between Chrysler and Mitsubishi.* In fact, the naturally aspirated Eclipse 2.0 litre is based on the Neon engine, which was entirely developed by Chrysler.* However, the head is reversed in the Eclipse installation, with the exhaust manifold facing front.* The Mitsubishi turbo engines, on the other hand, were designed in Japan and do not have any common parts with the Chrysler product."

The point is, MOST of those DSMs are running around with neon engines... and they're a lot heavier than a neon.

god i hate to get involved in this flame war....

but here goes....

cash all the old body style neons suck, sorry. there are some people out there who have managed to squeeze some performance out of them but basically they suck.

the new four door only neon with the supercharger does actually have some very nice potential. if you are raving about that car then please excuse the paragraph above.
