my 928's factory oil change interval was 9500 miles, and it was an '87! it did take 8 quarts of oil, though.

I think BMW uses a system to monitor driving patterns to determine the appropriate oil change interval. Someone doing mostly highway driving can extend their oil change interval over someone doing mostly short trips and stop and go driving.

I bought my car last September 11th with 113k miles and she now has close to 140. Maybe I'll buy a bottle of injector cleaner beore heading east to Durham again this weekend.

Might be a good idea to run some of that Tole . . . Tolo . . . Tola . . . that stuff mattski recommended, through your system. Personally, I use Chevron Techron.
SON OF A *****!!! That Metric Subaru told me my POUNDING fuel injectors that I can hear from INSIDE the car is NORMAL for Subarus and means they're WORKING WELL!

God damn...i'm so depressed about the quality of mechanics. I mean, i've heard horror stories, but I never thought it would happen to me with my SVX at 16

TICK TICK TICK TICK on right side of engine...can hear in car. Put your finger on them, and they seem to be pumping so hard they're moving.

ticky ticky ticky ticky on left side of engine. Can't really feel them open and close, just a little.

Does anyone have an idea where I can buy tolune?

A good hardware store should have it.

While I'm aware that a higher octane rating doesn't equal more power, I only experienced benefits of the toluene while it was in my gas tank. Benefits such as increased acceleration and no hesitation when the engine's cold. However, as soon as I refilled with gas, I was back at square one. My point is as follows: For any of you looking to miraculously cure your power loss with this, look elsewhere.

I've noticed that with a lot of over-the-counter additives. They run better, but only for the current tank of gas. Apparently they're only adding more BTUs to the gas, whether they actually have any detergent abilities is another story.
