sad svx
sos yesterday i replaced the iacv because my car was idle surging while i was doing that i found that there was a bunch of oil in the throttle body so i cleaned that out as good as i could along with the intake, i figured i did that much why not change the spark plugs and polish my headlights and install my HID's after very many hours of work and being very angry because of the last spark plug(the one that is the hardest to get to) so anyways after it was all put back together i belive the car is miss firing or something its still idle surging and now it has a really bas tick to the motor????? the lights look good lol but thats it..any body have any suggestions to what could have caused the tick or the suging? i guess im gunna try the plugs again and hopefully one didnt seed in rite...wish me luck...

Re: sad svx
What spark plugs did you use? Please tell me they are the NGK the SVX is used to...
Sounds like a bad spark plug or one of them isn't setting right or.... you've uncovered a bad coil pack by replacing the spark plugs.

Re: sad svx
yea i used NGK iridium plugs, the ticking sound i found out is actually the flex plate in the tranny its messed up or cracked, about 2 months ago i had a forester trans put in and appaerantly they put used parts on my car and now they are going out of course with my luck, anyways i took it down to summit auto where i had it done and said fix my ****! as for the plugs its running great now. idk what was up with it just being bi polar lol

Re: sad svx
A flexplate can be reused with no problems. They are just way too thin and prone to breaking/cracking. It has been found that the flexplates from newer EJ motors can be used and are much more solid meaning minimal chance of failure.
