Re: Cleaning the 93. Warning: Not for the weak stomach.

Seth,

No plans for new QP just yet. Been busy with the other projects on my plate. Just want to make this run and drive well first. Passing inspection is also a must.

Re: Cleaning the 93. Warning: Not for the weak stomach.

Mike I would be very interested to know the purpose of the module bolted to the rearmost centre tunnel near the back seat.

UK SVXs and JDM cars do not have this unit, as our tunnel covers stop short to allow a third person or a child sit in the middle of the rear seat.

It is visible in pic DSCN1965.jpg. The left side seems to be lime green, the right side aluminium colour. What is it? What does it do?

Joe

They're the recoils for the shoulder belts if your belts are automatic.

Re: Cleaning the 93. Warning: Not for the weak stomach.

Ah, that makes sense then. Thanks LetItSnow.

As we and the Japanese did not get the auto seat belts, we have no need for that unit.

Interesting

Looking Great Mike,

You know overall, she doesn't look to bad.. even better if it simple cosmetic stuff.

What do you use to replace the carpet?

I have not replaced it yet. I am working on obtaining a replacement from a donor car.

I like my auto belts. Except for when I drive a different car and try getting out before undoing the seatbelt

Re: Cleaning the 93. Warning: Not for the weak stomach.

Between my SVXs and my BF's we have two with manual belts (My Claret and his Laguna), and two with automatic (The Ebony and My 93).

I just like how the manual belts sit vs the auto belts. The lap belt just feels awkward.... And it REALLY dates the car.

Re: Cleaning the 93. Warning: Not for the weak stomach.

Update:

This weekend I have a few things to accomplish with regard to this car.

-Align Driver Door
-Remove rear glass for tint removal
-Clean, inspect, prep pinchweld
-Remove soiled headliner
-Pull seats again along with door and side panels
-Clean floorpan (inside)
-Discard and Replace soiled trunk carpet
-Remove leftover tint adhesive
-Fix sunroof latch and clear drains
-Fix Cluster trim(not secured after prev mechanics work)
-Touch up sound deadening with foam/undercoating
-Install replacement carpet (Thanks SVX92-97)
-Install repl headliner (Thanks again)
-Clean and Install Visors
-Clean, condition, install (Seats, console, door cards)
-Reinstall rear glass

Additionally, the car has passed NJ Inspection, but is experiencing a solenoid C failure, which I also plan on rectifying in the near future.
