Clear coat on wheels question

Hi All,
I have refinished the wheels on the Black over Silver 92 in 06, with Duplicolor spray bombs. I must have put too much clear coat on, because it cracked over time.
Can I just wet sand the cracked clear off and reclear (lightly) or do I have to completely strip and redo?

Do you have fine hair line cracks or has the clear coat pealed off the base paint? How wide are the cracks?

I have fine hair line cracks on my center plastic hubs but I have to get close to notice. The clear coat on the silver is still looking good after a few years. Then I got another set of wheels I tried to spray black and on that the paint went on to dry. It did not stick at all. I can push it off with a rag.

Small hairline cracks, only visable from about 6 feet.

Sand them with 400grit paper, hose them off, the respray with the same brand of clear.

It's important to get the same type of paint to respray the clear, as a laquer over enamel will turn your slick paint into a wrinkle finish. Enamel over laquer is ok.
