What kind of antenna do these things have? Is it that little cookie-sized disc I see mounted on trunks? Or is it more of a full antenna? Is it for GPS only, or does it take over as radio as well?
We all have tons of questions, don't we. Sorry, it's just that none of the sites selling these ever go into the fine details like this. Always best to hear from real people with real experience, especially when they have the same car.

Couple more pics
The antenna is for GPS only--still have original for radio--works "ok". Did not get steering wheel remote--looked pretty cheap. Did bypass for programing while driving--works great--only need to ground parking brake wire. Here are pics of GPS antenna and one with unit off. 122107_1303.jpg

Oh the GPS antenna works INSIDE the car! Very cool! Never a reception problem?
The parking bypass is a MUST. I didn't realize these units made you pre-program the route until I started looking into them this week. That's crazy. No OEM system I've ever used does that, and most certainly the little portable ones don't because they aren't wired to the car!

GPS reception is fine, even in this hilly, wooded area. Yeah, the parking bypass is simple too.
