Bought my Daughter a motorcycle for her 11th B-Day!
I bought my oldest a 2003 Yamaha PW80 for her 11th birthday (02-APR). Back in August of last year, she got on her cousin's Honda XR50 and rode all weekend with no problems. She had never ridden a motorcycle before that. We went and picked out a helmet and she is so stoked. Wife isn't exactly in love with the idea, but I know it will keep me and my daughter closer. Plus when she outgrows it in a few years, my younger daughter (5 on 19-MAR) wants it!

I am glad to hear she picked out a helmet. That is great when you can do something that your kids and you enjoy together. Good luck.

Sounds like a great idea!! I always wished I had a dirt bike but around me there is nothing to ride on. Watch out for what comes next!! I love my street bike, but you could have started something.

I had one when I was a kid too. Keep them into stuff and they will leave boys alone until much later!

I had one growing up, it was a blast because they were constantly putting up new developments, so lots of dirt and hills in the area when they do the lanscaping before they start laying foundation. Pretty much every summer we had like a 10acre field of dirt and hills to ride on, as they put about 6 different developments one per year, right in my prime age to ride. Then around 15 my friend and i were riding, me on my suzuki 200, himon my dune buggy. We were going side by side racing, witha little track we set up. Well he suddenly turned thinking there was a turn, and i went strait, and he hit me doing about 40mph. Ended up breaking an ankle, but it was still fun. I just rode the buggy while it was healing, since it had no peddles, only hand throttle and break. Lots of fun getting hit by this:
Mine wasn't in near as good of condition as that though. |

Been riding dirt bikes since I was a kid....still ride...(dirt and street)
Have always tried to have a little dirt bike for my girls to ride....but none of them have ever really gotten in to it....so count yourself lucky that they enjoy it, so you'll have something to enjoy together

I can't wait until we go riding. The little one wants it already, but will have to wait until the older one moves on to a bigger bike.
