Maybe this has been covered already but,

I did a search and could not come up with anything.

How many SVX's do you know that are junk and off the road? Was wondering out of some 14000 cars, how many were resting in peace.

I know of 2 sofar in a Elk River, Minnesota junkyard.

If someone could hack the DMV database in all 50 states... I would like to know how many SVXi are actually registered in the US

That would certainly be interesting. For about a year I kept a running list of SVXs I ran across on Ebay and various sale sites...by the end of that year I had Vin's ove over 100 cars...mostly 92's...I'll see if I can find that file when I get home tonight.

As for registration of the cars...that won't necessarily result in an accurate accounting...my 92 hasn't been registered in 2 years yet there isn't anything wrong with it. I wouldn't be surprised if there are quite a few non-registered but still operable SVX hiding around the country.

That has been a very interesting discussion in the past. Out of all the SVXes, how many are still road worthy. It is not an easy thing to find out.

Lets go the other route then,

Heading North on 494 in Maple Grove, Minnesota. I stayed along side her awhile but she must have been getting into her music because she didnt look out the window.

Have seen a black one at Firestone during a Friday night MNSubaru get together and a Silver one in Eden Parire where I bought my visor clips.

Talked to a guy on board here from Elk River, MN

When I was looking to buy mine last summer I looked at one in Apple Valley, MN and one in Dennison, MN for sale.

So thats 6 on the road here including mine that I know off and 2 in Junkyard.

Yeah so I'm bored this morning.

I wonder if you'd have to hack 'em, or if there's a legitimate way to tap that data.

It would be interesting to know how many were in each state, too. I'll bet first place would go to either Pennsylvania or Washington. Georgia would rank near the bottom. I'd be surprised if there are 40 SVXs registered in this state.

yeah but that would be a violation of privacy because with all of the registration #'s you are going to get adresses and some personal information that should never be available to the general public... You could ask the dmv in your state if they can give you the registered #'s alone but I doubt they would bother to go out of their way.... We all know how helpful DMV associates can be...

yeah, I know of the other silver one in Eden Prairie, its about 2 min from my house!, there is a black one that parks at the mall of america everyday, there is a pearlie in Becker, there was a green one driving thru EP a month or two ago, and there is a red on and a silver on in bloomington, I didn't know about the two in Elk River junk yard tho, I ask around here at all the junk yards and only one has even had a subaru...

My 97 isn't even registered as an SVX in Tennessee. When I imported it from Seattle May of 2004, the DMV could not get the computer to accept SVX as a model of a Subaru. They put in the first 3 of the VIN, so I'm driving a JF1.

So if someone was able to check the DMV records, the vin might be the best way to go.

Significant Technical Input Registered SVX
I'm looking into getting the number of SVX's registered in Kentucky, will post here if I get any answers...

Seems like my other SVX was listed as something else on the title too, and SVS I think

Wow they are coming out of the wood work here,

Stopped at Best Buy and ran into a older gal that has a Ebony one that live in Excelsior, Minn. She said she bought it new in 92 and drives it everyday. Was all covered in slop from the snow but still running strong. Also said she has never had any problem with it other then the visor droops. I told her about the forum and the clips on ebay for an easy fix.

So thats what, about 14/15 for sures in MN with the 2 in the yard?

Boy at this rate it's going to be hard to get to 14000 lol
