SVX Racing get's its first trophy

Hocrest and I managed to get all 4 runs each in today despite an overheating problem that cause him to run quite hot (mental note don't race an SVX w/o at least one cooling fan). His best time was a 51.7 which was a full second ahead of me until my last run when I posted a 50.6 taking second in E Prepared out of 4 drivers. Granted I was a full 6 seconds behind a fully sorted CRX race car with a great driver but for a "land yaht" that wasn't too bad. We race again in 2 weeks at Aberdeen MD. Should have a cooling fan in, our new/slightly used SVXfiles designed catless exhaust in and will have cut a coil out of both the front and rear springs. I think we almost can touch the rear bumper on a pedal to the floor acceration at the moment.

Next time, Hocrest gets to run 2nd. Still need to figure out tire pressures with the Victoracers..

Autoxing in a "prepared" SVX. Without weighing it yet I'm still guessing its the worlds lightest SVX (if only b/c it is currently a FWDer which will take about 200lbs off from SVReX. Check out our site for picks John. Haven't updated it in a few weeks but you'll get the picture. She's a whole lot prettier now that most of the external trim and side garnishes are back on.

Ben,
Try running around 45 psi in the front and 40 in the back, for starters. Get some white shoe polish to mark the side walls to see if you're rolling over. If you are, up the pressure a bit...if you aren't, drop the pressure a bit.
Great job!!
I ran today - without having walked the course first (long story...) - so I'm looking forward to the WDCR SCCA posting the results. The Konis and other "things" I did since the Test'n'Tune made a big difference in how the car handles now (can you say "power slide"?)
-Bill (yes, you can get an SVX to corner flat....just takes time, money, and engineering )

Super running, Ben and Dave AND Bill!!

BTW, I agree with Bill re tire pressures - I usually run 50 front, 40 in rear, but you are MUCH lighter!!
This year I plan to bump it down to 45 front and 40 rear and go from there. But something tells me I will go back up on the pressure.

Ben / Dave and Bill,
Any photos??

Harry

Harry,
Here's one...almost in the middle of the second 180 right at the start of the course...if you look closely, you can see the inside tires starting to lift!

Nice pic Bill. Now were struggling to get her running again (electrical issue I think) and the new stuff on for Aberdeen. Last time we were there MikeCJ said we were getting our rear inner up high enough through the turns to have it almost stop.
