Nissan ECU in an SVX?
Has anyone ever looked into wiring in a 300ZX ECU from the same model years in a modded SVX? The ECU should be good for controlling the engine up to 300HP, minimum. And don't people usually upgrade the MAF and injectors to those from a 300ZX TT?

Re: Nissan ECU in an SVX?
WTF would you want to bother rewiring your car for another stock ecu that is clearly not meant for this engine????

Re: Nissan ECU in an SVX?
You might be able to make it physically match up, but I have no idea if the software will carry over. For example, do the two cars have the same firing order? I'm not familiar with the 300's engine, but there are likely different sensor input/outputs as well (like the IRIS).

Re: Nissan ECU in an SVX?
I'm guessing the dual crank triggers would also not play nice with a Nissan ECU.

Re: Nissan ECU in an SVX?
The trigger patterns for the crank and cam sensors are very different, and the fire order's very different. So, not even close.

Re: Nissan ECU in an SVX?
Because they have an OBD2 ECU from 1996 that is designed for forced induction and an automatic transmission. I have no idea what issues or incompatibilities there might be so I asked if anyone had looked into it. Nissan and Subaru shared a lot of parts. If the firing order is wrong or other sensors are not compatible or a turbo charged version of the EG33 would be too dissimilar to the 300ZX turbo then, yeah, it wouldn't make sense but how would anyone know for sure unless someone looked into it before? Living in western PA and hanging out with the locals has made you cranky.

Re: Nissan ECU in an SVX?
You really have to resign yourself to the fact that adding forced induction to an OBD-II SVX in New York would be so complicated and expensive that it would be a much smarter move to buy an older one and build from that. Butt heads with the brick wall all you like; you simply can't win this one.
