Torque converters ?

The 4.444 had one with a "light blue dot" - maybe the tranny was from a 2.2 turbo Legacy? Would explain my 3200 rpm stall speed.

The JDM SVX tranny had an "orange dot" - as it should.

It appears that these guys offer three different converters for the 22 splined input.... (phase 1?). An interesting thing is, that the 2.5 n/a Outback shold have the same converter as the 3.0 one and the SVX.

I trust the phase 2 trannies (and 5EAT) had an input shaft with 23 splines.

Any more info/confirmation ?
