White face gauges

To illuminate the 'WHITE' face to your color choice, you have to remove three incandescent bulbs that are in front of and above the faces with your choice of colored LED's. The stock incandescents pass their light through a green diffuser that you also have to remove. Once you take the gauges out of the dash and look at the replaceable bulbs at the very top of the gauge cluster, this will all become obvious.

If you put in red LEDs, the white faces will be illuminated red, but the indiglo numbers will remain blue - reverse of the Mazda 3 gauges. Same goes for green LED's in front will make the white faces look like Chrysler 300M faces, but with the indiglo numbers and hash marks still blue. I didn't take pictures of the other color experiments because I liked the blue look, (and because I ran out of time).

I got the LED's at superbrightleds.com. Get a few different colors and experiment til you get the look you like.

Do they made the glo gauges with black faces?

I don't think that I've ever seen black SVX gauges with indiglo. As far as I know, there are two white face, indiglo setups available for the SVX. One like mine, and one with some concentric rings around the needle center.

Do a search on the network for colored gauges. Someone on the boards disassembled them completely and then scraped the green off the back of each gauge face making the numbers and hashmarks essentially clear. With red LED backlighting, all of the numbers and hashmarks were red with stock black faces (very 'older BMW' like). With blue LED's, you'd get blue numbers and keep the black OEM faces.
