keeping it mint
ok guys not quite SVX talk here but all my questions could pertain to the SVX. I am seriously considering buying a mint conditioned 1981 Datsun 280zx turbo but I don't have a garage to store it in. It will be put away in storage during the winter months but left in the driveway all summer. Some tall trees will keep it in shade for at least part of the day but I really want to keep this thing as mint as possible. My question is how can I keep this thing in mint shape without a garage. Is a car cover a good idea or will it scratch the paint in the wind. Keeping the sun out of the interior to stop the dash from cracking and interior from fading is also vital... Thanks for your suggestions

if no garage, then a car cover is your best bet i guess. a good one is expensive - you're looking at $150-$200 for a custom fit, multi-layer, breathe-able cover.

ditto. Youll want a good quilted weather proof car cover. What would also work well would be one of them car canopys with the enclosed sides. no fiddling about with draw strings and worrying abuot scuffing the paint..just drive right in

Re: keeping it mint
There are those big framed tent garage things that they make too. We have one for our camper and it works great. I think another thing would be to make sure you are keeping the car parked on pavement and not on gravel or grass/dirt. This will keep moisture from hastening any rust issues in the underbody and other various components....

Keep it jacked up too avoid flat spots on the tires.
