Something Got Hot

I purchased my svx a few months ago and have been reading this forum for about a month. It has helped me fix many of the small problems the car came with (power seats, sticky sunroof, yellow headlights, etc..) and i would like to thank all of you for that.

A couple weeks ago i found a straight stretch of road and got up to around 115. After i hit the brakes and slowed to around 40, I could feel something very hot coming through the floor. Is this normal? everything was still working correctly. the only thing i noticed was the brakes making a sort of squeeking sound afterwards. I did slow very quickly from 115 down to 40, so is it possible that this made the brakes so hot that i could feel them through the floor?

My other guess would be the exhaust. I know it gets hot when you have it floored, but i didnt think it would get that hot. I thought something was on fire at first.

also, i am getting ready to change all the fluids in my car and would like to switch to all synthetics. I have heard that it can cause problems when switching to synthetics on car with high miles like mine (150k). Should i worry about this?

Thanks alot!

What is next to your floor is your tranny. It could be your tranny heating up or your engine heating up. Either way, it's not good if you keep it up.

take it easy.
