Q's: Spray Paint to make reverse stenciling on Motorcycle Helmet!
Just purchased a brand new gloss black fiberglass shelled motorcycle helmet.
I would like to do a bit of a custom design on it. My idea is to take the modern Honda 'Wing' design to a vinyl cutter and apply it to both sides of the helmet (large 4-5" tall). Once it's on, I will spray the helmet w/ flat black paint. Give the flat black paint a minute or two to dry and then immediately 'pull' the vinyl off, leaving the original gloss black ever so slightly recessed. Questions: Never attempted anything like this. Should/Will this work? Anything I should keep in mind? How should I get the vinyl off? I'm thinking kind of 'pinch' it near an edge for each piece. Thoughts? Advice?

See if the vinyl cutter has masking tape sheets instead of vinyl, lots of custom work is done like that....

Zav,
What big red do ya got? I would be sure you check to see what kind of paint you can use with the manufacturer of the helmet as the wrong type of paint can reacte with the shell and turn it into a soft head. What huck said about the masking sheets.
