Good point. If we are including the fix it and part number section, we should stick STRICTLY with Subaru parts. If you have the original factory part number then it would make sense to put it there. However something that can be done 3 or more ways, definately should have it's own section. Simply to cut down on arguments and confusion for new members.

I know that Doug Mohr (mohrds) started compiling an Excel base of part numbers. You might check with him. This could be a good start. I have several part numbers I can add to the base, along with a catalogue fromwhich to grab part numbers. Although, with the subaruparts.com diagram/parts # site, parts #'s have become easy to get, even if one does not purchase their parts from them. Of course, this diagram only lists parts pertaining to '92's, but, supposedly they're working on an update.

Doug's Database....

has a nice ring to it. I had seen places where Doug was listing part numbers while I was searching for numbers, and Ryan is right, best to stick completely with Subaru numbers where they are known.

Maybe Lwin or Chris can contact Doug, see what he has researched. Partly my point is that members will be using a lot of the same part numbers, and these will also be the ones needed by new members. Things such as wheel bearings, replacement filters, replacement wiper arms and so on would be needed more than other parts.

Ok. This is the details... I got my computer running now. Since I am giving away one of my servers to my brother, I am left with one server for myself -- I am doing some moving and what not so pretty much for now, that's the only box I am left with. I have mandrake 8 on that box as well as win2k and apache on both...

In english? Ok I have a somewhat stable server for personal (desktop) daily usage. Since that is taken care of, I can work on the FAQ a bit. I will post what I have so far. I need help from you guys to edit and change things to it. My aim is to x-fer the FAQ to svx.net server at a later date (when it has more info)... What do you think?

x-siteing

This sounds highly reasonable to me Lwin.

Any help I can give with editing and so on, just ask. The FAQ section will not materialise overnight, it will need pruning and revision and tweeking and so on.

Even when finally up, it will be work in progress.

Take your time. Get it as right as you can.

Joe

One thing that I have been working on accumulating is the productions numbers and for what its worth, I'd like to see this in the FAQ.

Norway: 12
Australia: 250
Uraquay: 3
Britain: 259 or 289 (debated)
United States: you guys know for more certainty!
Germany: about 800 (from memory...I have details somewhere)

Jamsvx

PS: who is Terry??? And what is his site?

Production by numbers

Hi James

These production numbers are great, and sure to be a common question.

Terry is Terry McLane, who has a site detailing FAQ's on our SVX's for quite some time. Check it out at
