I always start out nicely Aredub, the guy could be totally legit. However I think all of us can remember peepee and his 980 hp SVX, and the brochure totin' kid. I'm a wee bit gun shy of taking someones comments at face value now. Digital cameras and scanners are dirt cheap now, so proving something isn't a big deal in my book. (Did I mention my scanner was 9.95 after rebates woohoo!)

By the way, I like your tagline now! Everyone can see you live in la la land with every post! By Grabthar's Hammer...

But steeriously, folks

You know,

youse boys would scare off a saint. Heaven knows how we retain the angel!

Just to add fuel to the fire I have said before that suspension compliance which adds/subtracts to understeer or oversteer depending on side loads can be called passive steering, but it would be more accurately described as active stability geometry or dynamic chassis control or a number of other things.

Cast your mind back a few years to when Corvettes had "live" rear axles and more horsepower than made sense. If you gave it too much stick on a wet bend, and the tail passed you out, would that be regarded as passive steering?? Would you admit to your buddies that you "steered" your car backwards through a hedge?

I don't think so. But to each his own. If you think you have passive steering, then you have it. I just think we have a car with the best body control in the business. Jaguars come close, but they don't have the added stability of 4wd.

Feel free to conterdict me. I am waiting with bated gun for my cat to come back with the toast. Physics and motor engineering can be so tiring.

Joe

No, that would be called loss of traction, and lack of ability to steer.

Nope, actually it fits yer definition incredibly well Aredub, lack of ability to steer..."passive steering".

And Joe, I'm a little mad at ZeeZee today. He caught a small mouse and chased it all night long. Then this morning he let me know where it was, under the couch. So I move the couch and there's this scared little bugger just shakin' in his boots. ZeeZee gets him and starts grabbing him by the tail and flings him all over the room. I thought after he tired of it he'd give it the fatal bite, but nooooo....he just left the (now crippled) mouse sitting on the kitchen floor. So I took it away from him and put it outside where hopefully they won't find it anytime soon. What's really fun to watch is when one of them brings in a bat...my wife just freaks!

Or it might be "impulsive rear-wheeled steering"

My ***** loves cats. She just never seems to be able to catch them. I have had dead birds, mice, rabbits etc, etc out the back, but nary a dead cat. Oh well, just have to train her to climb trees.

Playing cat and mouse...

< What's really fun to watch is when one of them brings in a bat...my wife just freaks!>

Who could blame her? Playing ball in the living room is hell on the furniture...

First place we lived in when we moved to WV, we had a bat get in one evening. Jean was in the tub when I notified her of our visitor. She grabbed a straw, put it in her mouth and submerged. Asked Harry the cat for his assistance; no....a flying mouse was more than he could handle. I finally found it behind some drapes in the bedroom. Trapped it inside a Tupperware container, took it out and released it. Little brown bat; cute little sucker. Amazing thing was when he was flying around the ceiling light he look as big as a buzzard! Good thing it only took about 10 minutes, 'cause wifey was turning into a prune in the tub..

Had a black male cat once that played a kind of singles tennis match with mice he would catch in the yard. He would fling the little things so high, they qualified for frequent flier miles. After a few minutes he would deliver "the bite" and put them out of their misery. Then he would deposit them on the front steps for our approval...Good Boy! Don

And so, we continue to disagree. I really can't see how having one's Corvette go arse about face due to a "wet bend" could be called anything more than a beastly cock up. Bugger! Don't be so bloody blinkered.

It's OK Randy,

It came back so quick with the bleeps, I knew it was an automatic self censorship device. Never doubted you.

I suppose you can say the board has passive moderation!
