Oh, The Shame

Can anyone direct me to the "Neon World Network?" Okay, I'm trying not to be "pissy." I'm hoping humor will get me through this next 3-4 days of waiting for my "obsession" to be repaired. The body shop guy said I could call and talk to her any time I wanted to, to make sure they're treating her right. Maybe we should change the name of this site from "Subaru SVX Network" to "Subaru SVX Therapeutic Support Group." I'm definitely going to be a freakin' basket case for the next few days. "Hi, my name is Randy, and I'm an SVX-o-holic."

We feel your pain

We're all with you Randy. I'm taking mine in next week to get rid of a high speed shake. I hope it's only the wheels. I've had them balanced so many times though....

Fortunately, I have some Subydollars to use, thanks to that MBNA card.

That's one of my next steps. Since the installation of my new, very expensive tires, I have a noticeable "vibration" that manifests itself at 60mph and goes away at 80mph. Therefore, I have the option (if I don't want to drive with the vibration) of driving under 60 or over 80 ---- wanna guess which one I've chosen. Ooooo, I'm gonna get in so much trouble if I don't get that fixed. I'm hoping that installing the new (to me) wheels I bought from Leo will take care of it.

Randy, stay strong. I know how it feels to be without the SVX. I swear I had a hard time. You noticed. Just thinking about it make me shiver now. But we are all gonna be here. Hope you get her back soon.

Mines in that range too

70-85. VERY subtle. You have to look at the pass. seat to see it shaking. It settles above that. That's why I theorize that it's the balance. At higher speeds the car really does sit down tight to the road.

I could get new wheels, but I don't need them. Mine are in pretty good shape. I hope it's just a bad balancing job by the jokers at my local Firestone dealer. (Remember I put Bridgestone Portenza's on?)

My fingers are crossed.

Is that why your's is in?

Nope. I'm having the fender repaired where the Excursion backed into it about three weeks ago . . . a week before the ROckford meet . . . grrrrrrrr.

Then, it's the wheels (they're '94's lighter silver so they should look stunning on the pearly). When I had the new tires put on, I had them (of course) balanced and I had a 4-wheel alignment (which was the reason I needed new tires in the first place). I can't wait to see her without her dent. I couldn't even wash her for almost breaking down when I came to the LF fender.

Sniff... looked out the window this morning and said "Where is my car??" and then remembered "Oh, thats right, it spent the night in a lonely dealer parking lot.. sniff..."

On the plus side, the dealer has yet to call and say "Well Colin, we broke your engine in half, sorry!"

Argggg, I need a cardboard cutout SVX to put in the driveway or something..

Randy,

Take a plane to Reading, PA. I'll meet you at the airport with "Subydoo". You can drive him around all you wan't. The first tankful of premium and "round at the bah" is on me. (Same deal as offered last year for the Vermont Tour). Just let me know the flight # and ETA.

Larry III
PS: Two things.
1) You can't drop me off and take the SVX back to Kentucky.
2) New Yorkers do not say "bah" (That's Bostonians). We pronounce it "bahrrrr". I guess all us "Yankees" sound alike to "youse".

Ah, how about the life-size inflatable rubber SVX? Comes with integral 12volt motor and pump for inflation, and available in your choice of colors, including yellow. Shipped in plain cardboard box, complete with drooping rear visors. But wait! If you order within the next twenty minutes, you'll receive free, a CD of simulated SVX sounds, including failing rear bearing sounds. Order NOW!

You all are missing one thing... the nice smell of the burnt tranny fluid. If it comes with the tranny fluid smell, count me in for one. I want to put one in my apartment.

I'm concerned about the number of "orifices." And, does it come with "weather stripping?"
